 I learned how to draw at an early age maybe around two according to mommy. Me and my cousin Jovanii enjoyed our play time with mommy. Drawing, reading and playing school is our form of play. We would all sit together; papers, crayons and pencils on the table and story books for mommy to read or mommy reciting a rhyme or singing a tune. I started drawing small circles, then big circles while mommy singing a rhyme and guiding my hands how to do it properly. Then the circle got stick hands and stick legs until it became a stick girl or a stick boy. We learned to appreciate art at very early age.

Art taught us how to express our moods and emotions, our feeling, our dreams. It had brought us to far places and experiences we cannot buy. Me and my cousin Jovanii were always representative or competitor to division or national on-the-spot drawing or poster making contests or cartooning.

All or any form of art is beautiful. It is an artist’s own expression, his mind, his soul. Perspective, focal point and key lines are very important to make your subject realistic at least. And the knowledge of the color wheel is very important whether you are using charcoal, colored pencils, oil pastels, oil paints or mixed media.
